Summer in the virtual Sága Studio
“Summer is the time to soak up the healing properties of the sun and nature and we’re here for it – go play outside (with a mask)!”
We’re also here to support you in tuning in from wherever you are to the live online classes with our Chief Wellness Officer Ivor Edmond in the virtual Sága Studio.
Knowing that July and August get crazy busy for so many of us, Ivor made some updates to the summer schedule to help you squeeze in a practice before or after your fun-in-the-sun adventures:
30-minute quick class options
Early morning options
New weekday evening classes
A new full (90 min.) Qigong practice each week, in addition to the two existing 60-min. practices on Wednesdays and Sundays at 11 a.m.
An extra long savasana 💤 after the Sunday 2 p.m Healflow Yoga class (now 75 mins.) to fight off the 'Sunday Scaries'
He is also launching brand new class options including…
Yoga for Athletes (30 mins.) – Fridays at 7:30 a.m.
Yoga for Athletes is designed to help athletes minimize recovery time by repairing and healing the joints and muscles most affected by the impact of an active lifestyle and/or training. This class features the spinal series from Ivor’s Healflow Class and addresses potential issues in major joints and muscle groups to reduce inflammation, tension and soreness. This class also focuses on strengthening the respiratory system through deep breathing.
This 30-minute class is suitable for participants from with zero yoga experience, as modifications can be made for every pose.
Trauma Sensitive Yoga (TSY) or Trauma Informed Yoga (TIY) – Thursdays at 6 p.m. & Saturdays at 11 a.m.
Trauma Sensitive Yoga (TSY) or Trauma Informed Yoga (TIY) is designed to help you heal from your more painful experiences, whether they are physical or emotional. The slow movements, rhythmic soothing music, and the deliberate exercises and poses in this class address various unique reactions to trauma present in our neurobiology and energy fields. Ivor designed this class through more than a decade of service to Victims of Violent Crimes with the City of Boston Streetworker Program, St. Francis House Homeless Shelter, and Impact Model Mugging.
This 60-minute class is suitable for participants with or without yoga experience.
