Meet Ibsahu
Illuminating wisdom along the path of becoming
“Ibsahu” means “Wisdom of the Orion.”
The constellation Orion, visible in the night sky as though poised with a bow and arrow, is also known as, “The Hunter.”
Ibsahu (pronounced “Eeb-sah-who”) Pernebsati is the name that was revealed to Ivor Edmonds by the Earth during his initiatic journey with the Dogon, as a student of Kemetic culture at the Earth Center.
Ivor Edmonds was given his name by his parents, a name passed down through generations from Ivor’s grandfather to his father, his father to him, and then he to his son.
“Ivor” means “archer” or “bow warrior.”
Both names, auspiciously similar in meaning, hold deep significance for the man who has dedicated his career to addressing wellness and trauma healing in oppressed and marginalized populations.
Ibsahu (Ivor Edmonds, MHA) is a trauma-informed systems builder and master practitioner who has 20 years of experience working with gangs and troubled youth, homeless populations, victims of violent crime, veterans, survivors of trauma and rape, addicts, the mentally ill, and seniors. He holds a Master of Applied Healing Arts from the Maryland University of Integrative Health (formerly the Tai Sophia Institute).
He is a Master of Gendai Reiki Ho, a Level II Usui Reiki Healer, an E-RYT 200 and YACEP-certified Vinyasa Yoga Instructor, as well as a certified Qi Gong, Kemetic Meditation, and Pilates instructor.
Ibsahu has taught seminars and led corporate wellness programs at Tewksbury State Hospital, Boston Medical Center, St. Francis House, Boston Public Schools, Oberlin College, Harvard Divinity School’s Reiki Association (2006), Action for Boston Community Development, Veronica B. He has also created and implemented many programs integrating traditional healing methods in modern contexts, including a customized yoga program for the MIT Track/Field/Cross Country Team.
After running his own wellness and yoga studio in Brighton, called Taireiki Wellness, from 2016-2019, Ibsahu moved to New Hampshire, where he currently resides with his wife, Brianna, and their two children. He teaches at Club Pilates Bedford and hosts transformative private and group wellness retreats.
