Healing Reiki Energy for Animals
Can I tell you a quick story?
Last week, we adopted a betta fish for our animal-obsessed daughter. We set up the tank, went through the requisite nitrogen cycle and then headed for Petco to rescue one little buddy from life in a tiny plastic cup.
We introduced “Tutu Luna,” as this betta was lovingly named by our daughter, to the tank and hoped for the best. The first few days were… weird. He swam to the upper corner of the tank and stayed there, nose toward the corner, and I couldn’t figure out why. The water was testing fine and at the recommended temp, and we had the most gentle filter available. Still, it was a big change for a small fish and we were worried.
After almost a week of the parental terror that he would perish, I asked Ivor to give the fish reiki. He willingly knelt in front of the tank and dutifully gave this little finned fellow a life force energy treatment.
Would you believe that the next morning this fish was swimming around, interacting with the structures inside his tank and looking thrilled to be alive?
It was an experience that demonstrated the power of reiki as a modality not only for humans, but for animals, too.
