“Peak into Wellness” celebrates community vitality, health and healing in partnership with Peak into Peterborough.

 
 

Join us on Saturday, October 19th from 10 AM to 4 PM in the Parish Hall of the Unitarian Universalist Church.

Enter the Parish Hall of the UU Church (on Main Street in Peterborough) on the left side of the building and come upstairs. Dress comfortably and plan to visit for up to an hour, or more, and try as many of massage and bodywork sessions (around 15 minutes each) and FREE demo classes (20 minutes each) as you’d like. All-Day Offerings to Relax and Connect with your Community

  • Take a FREE community yoga, Qigong, Pilates or Reiki Meditation class with Ivor Edmonds, MHA, YACEP, C.Qg, Reiki M, a Peterborough-based healer with 20 years of experience working with homeless populations, victims of violent crime and trauma, gangs, the mentally ill, and seniors. See the schedule of FREE demo classes below.

  • Learn more about the offerings of the Sága Circle members, including local psychotherapist Alex Murray-Golay, who hosts the first TIMBo Group (trauma-informed mind and body movement) in New Hampshire in Peterborough. TIMBO combines yoga-like movement, breath, guided meditation and a workbook-based approach to explore and better understand the impact of emotions such as fear, guilt, shame and grief.

  • Ground in the transition of the season and sign up for a 20-minute Energy Balancing session with Sarah Aborn of SHAKTI Healing Arts between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Sarah’s method stems from two decades in the Healing Arts and aims to relieve emotional stress and anxiety. The focus of her work is to direct grounding for the body, healing for the heart, and spaciousness within the bodymind.

  • Shop the beautiful gemstone jewelry of Natalie T. Designs, handcrafted by Dublin artist Denise Graves. Featuring the healing properties of chalcedony, labradorite, amazonite and corral fossil, Denise’s work is not only art, but a wellness and self-care tool. Denise will also offer “Sága Circle” scarf pins in the spirit of the season and to support the local Sága movement.

  • Need a “tune up?” Sign up with Marybeth Hallinan, Intuitive Sound Healer, for a 15-minute sounding healing session with therapeutic tuning forks for only $5. Marybeth will also offer a 30-minute sound bath meditation using gongs, chant and singing bowls at noon (see the schedule on the right).

  • Enjoy the warm, delicious tastes of fall with treats by Emily Dexter, a local Certified Holistic Nutrition Consultant who guides her clients to vibrant health by leveraging nutrient-dense foods as the primary medicine for healing.

  • Enjoy a moment of relaxation and sign up for a seated head, neck, and hand massage using essential oils with Laurel Boyd, LMT of Shining Birch Massage. Laurel will also be joined by a member of Threshold Care's green burial committee, sharing information about how green burial promotes wellness for the earth.

  • Think about how you want to feel in your space and learn about feng shui and color psychology from Sarah Sim of Intentional Interiors and why it is important to live in energy-aligned interiors. Take a quiz to find out your dominant (Chinese) element and how that knowledge can assist you in updating your spaces into a more mindful environment.

  • Healing is for you! Sign up for a 15-minute seated healing session with Deb Mills of The Radiant Soul, a Reiki Master, Biofield Tuning Practitioner, Full Spectrum Healer and Certified Crystal Healer for just $5. Deb’s sessions incorporate reiki with tuning forks. Deb is also offering a 20% discount on a future full healing season for anyone who signs up during Peak into Wellness on October 19.

  • Bring your littles for a moment of mindfulness during kids yoga with Ditteke Ederveen-Gorman at 1 p.m. Ditteke is a Reiki Master, Kundalini yoga instructor and Radiant Child® yoga teacher who helps people incorporate mindfulness and meditation into their daily lives.

  • Ask the Tarot Cards a question that has been on your mind or heart and sign up for a 10-15 minute card reading with local intuitive Jeni Cantrell for $10 between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. to find the answer. The tarot tells the truth, so visit Jenny to uncover what you’ve been hiding from yourself, and trust in the wisdom of the cards!

  • Scan for energetic imbalances in your system with Acupuncturist Amy O’Dell Wilson, who will offer a free 5-minute Acugraph scan of the meridians on your arm. These meridians are invisible energetic pathways that conduct life force energy, or Qi (pronounced, “Chee,” as in “Qigong,” which you should try at 10:30 a.m. on the main stage — see the schedule below). Blockages or interferences in these meridian pathways can result in energetic imbalances that may contribute to negative health consequences. The goal of acupuncture is to restore energetic balance and proper energy flow to these meridians.

1-1:20 p.m.: Kids Yoga with Ditteke Ederveen

1:30-1:50 p.m.: Reiki Meditation with Ivor Edmonds

2-2:20 p.m.: Mat Pilates with Ivor Edmonds

2:30-3:20 p.m.: Trauma-Informed/Trauma-Sensitive Yoga with Ivor Edmonds

3:30-4 p.m.: Family-friendly "Healflow" yoga with Ivor Edmonds
